I live in New York City and recently brought my 10 year old son to the Guiilermo Canas Tennis Academy so he could work with Guillermo and his staff for a number of days. My son plays tennis 5 days a week and has begun regular tournament play. On a previous vacation to Aventura he had taken private lessons with Guillermo and benefited greatly from the experience of playing with not just a world class player, but also a terrific teacher of the game with a gift of connecting with his students. My son not only wanted to continue working with Guillermo but also be able to play with others his own age. So he enthusiastically asked to return and go to the Canas Academy. His time at the Canas Academy proved to be very rewarding. The instruction was excellent as the staff really cares about fundamentals and technique. However, what else really impressed me was the emphasis put on proper on-court behavior. In addition my son had the chance to make friends with a number of young players from different countries, which he loved. So he left not only a better tennis player but a more confident, well-behaved and worldly one. He can’t wait for his next visit to the Academy which we are already planning.
